Cart Recovery
Shopify abandoned cart recovery with email, WhatsApp and AI

An abandoned cart is the closest thing to a sale that did not happen. The shopper found the product, chose a variant and got to checkout. Something stopped them, and a good recovery flow gives them a reason to come back.
This is a practical abandoned cart recovery plan for Shopify stores in India and beyond.
First, find out why carts are left
Before you send a single reminder, look at where shoppers drop off. If most leave at shipping, the problem is shipping cost or delivery time, and no email will fix that on its own. A conversion funnel from visit to cart to checkout shows you the real leak.
Email: the reliable first reminder
A recovery email sent while the shopper still remembers the product works best. Keep it short: the product image, the cart link and one line that answers the most likely doubt, such as delivery time or returns.
WhatsApp: where Indian shoppers actually reply
For many stores, WhatsApp gets far more attention than email. Use it with care: only message shoppers who opted in, keep it to one or two messages, and always include the direct cart link.
Reorder reminders: the cart you have not lost yet
Not every lost sale is an abandoned cart. Buyers of consumables, like skincare or supplements, run out and forget to reorder. A reminder timed to when they are likely to need more brings them back before they try another brand.
Let AI rank what to fix first
You cannot fix everything this week. Instead of guessing, rank actions by the revenue they can win back. That tells you whether to fix shipping, launch a recovery email or start reorder reminders first.
Check the funnel for the biggest drop-off
Recover carts with email, then WhatsApp for opted-in shoppers
Bring repeat buyers back with reorder reminders
How AI Smart Engine helps
AI Smart Engine includes email recovery and smart reorder reminders on the Growth plan and WhatsApp on Pro. Growth Copilot reads your orders and funnel and ranks these actions by the revenue they can bring back, so you always know the next best step.
